I spent two days this June with a small, but truly devoted group of brothers and sisters in Christ at Bridport Church in Bridport, Vermont.  Saturday morning, I presented a condensed version of Knowing God’s Voice and was delighted by people’s receptivity and feedback.  Several people commented on how they wished they had this kind of training much earlier in their walk with Jesus.  I know I wish I had, which is one of the reasons why we are so passionate about sharing this!  Throughout this weekend conference, I enjoyed getting to know people’s stories and when prompted, sharing a word of encouragement as the Lord directed.

I also had the honor and privilege to preach Sunday morning.  We took a close look at Isaiah 55 as I shared a message about coming to God with all our needs.  Many of us struggle with a dogged spirit of independence that deceives us into believing we can get what we need without having to depend on God or other people.  As much as we might sincerely believe in Jesus, we find it challenging to fully trust God as a Father who will provide for what we truly need.   That’s why you see this echoing refrain, not just in Isaiah 55, but throughout the story of Scripture: Come to Me!  It’s simple but essential.   We concluded by coming to the Lord’s Table to receive Communion—a beautifully tangible way for us to come to Him and receive Him.

Grateful for the seeds that were planted during this time and grateful for the encouragement I received by my time with some truly hungry and thirsty lovers of the Lord.
